THE SKIN YOU’RE IN

Hey belles,

As the summer comes to an end and the chill peaks through, the flirty summer dress gets put to the side and the trendy fall trench and over the knee boot (you have been dying to wear ) makes it’s way front and center…… Its the time to embrace your inner “dean of diva” your looking like……. yup mmmhhhmm hmm that right! You are quite fancy and ready to go but, some thing just ain’t right. You stop, look in the mirror, lean in, look a little closer and it becomes clear. YOUR SKIN!  It does not have that glow it had 3 weeks ago. Your aesthetically sinful tan has faded. In fact, your skin is either feeling extremely dry and dehydrated or its excessively oily in all the wrong places (especially smack dab in the center of your face smdh)! First of all, let me just say stay calm, for this time of the year this is normal. I want to help you get through it with out any battle wounds! Lets be real the skin is the body’s largest and most complex organ. It breathes and absorbs many substances but it’s stain resistant, waterproof, and it also can hold both good and bad bacteria!  One can never completely grasps the dynamic layer of ones body that is consider its protective shield but you can learn how to treat your skin the way it should be treated especially that beautiful face of yours. Over a 3 week period starting now I’m going to help you. First week we  must determine your skin type. The second week I’m going to help you come up with a daily regimen to maintain.  The third week, I will give some at home holistic do-it-yourself spa  treatment tips that you can do while you’re  CWNM so please stay tuned……..

Most women think they know but, have no idea what their skin type is. In fact, I have dealt with plenty during my days freelancing for Nars, M.A.C , Lancome and of course Chanel! Two of the most common cases were the women with the large pores and an obsession. She has dry patches spread about from over exfoliating and excessive astringent habits. Or the women with dry skin that just does not bother to give the skin the proper hydration that it needs. She cleanses with all the wrong products and hydrates with something topical like petroleum jelly! These are just a few to name a couple of tragic cases. Again i want to help….

There are five basic skin types. They are:

  1. Normal skin
  2. Dry skin
  3. Oily skin
  4. Combination skin
  5. Sensitive skin

Take this little test, let me know what your skin type is  and I will address it. I will discuss all 5 types and how to take care of them next week.  Do you have any skin care concerns? I will a dress that too!

1. Does your skin look dull or flaky?

2. Does your skin have a shiny, slippery texture?

3. Does your skin feel itchy and taut?

4. Do you have enlarged or clogged pores, or acne?

5. Does your skin react adversely to cosmetics containing alcohol, synthetics, fragrances, and artificial colors?

6. Does your skin appear consistently plump, moist, and vibrant?

7. Does your forehead, nose, or chin appear oily, while the skin around your cheeks, eyes, and mouth is normal or dry?

If you answered yes to 1 or 3, you have DRY skin.

If you answered yes to 2 or 4, you have OILY skin.

If you answered yes to 5, you have SENSITIVE skin.

If you answered yes to 6, you have NORMAL skin.

If you answered yes to 7, you have COMBINATION skin.

LET ME KNOW WHATS GOING ON ! I want to help !

with Love from Love,

Nell
